4월 중반까지 시장수익률 상회 가능성

제약증시 <3월 둘째주>

지난 주 국내증시는 이라크전쟁이 임박한 가운데 북핵 위기가 확산돼 감에 따라 지정학적 위험이 고조됐고, 소비와 생산 설비투자 등 각종 실물경제 지표들도 잇따라 적신호가 켜지면서 증시는 하락세를 보였다.
국내시간으로 3월 5일 열린 `FDA 신약 심사자문위원회(Advisory Committee)'에서 LG생명과학의 퀴놀론계 항생제 `팩티브'를 심사위원들이 FDA 승인을 권고하였다.
따라서 제약주들은 강한 테마가 형성되지 않았지만 업종 전반적으로 긍정적인 요인으로 작용하였으나, 주식시장 급락에 따라 재료는 다소 희석되었다. 그러나 시장수익률을 상회하며 3월 이후 지속된 시장대비 상승률을 유지하고 있다. 종목별로는 LG생명과학이 미 FDA 허가 가능성으로 고점 대비 31.8% 상승했으나, 전 주말 이익실현 매물로 인해 9.12% 상승으로 장을 마감하였다.
금주 주식시장에서 주목해야 할 점은 우선 7,700선이 붕괴된 다우지수 등 미국증시의 하방경직성 유지가 담보되어야 한다는 점이다. 또한 지난주 후반 삼성전자의 1조원대 자사주 매입소식 등으로 반등하기 시작한 시가총액 상위종목들의 주가 흐름과 특히 외국인 패턴에 주목해야 한다.
단기적으로 주초반 급격한 주가 하락이 수반된다면 주식 매수의 기회를 제공할 것이다. 제약주는 LG생명과학 팩티브의 미 FDA 승인 가능성으로 4월 중반까지는 시장수익률을 상회할 가능성이 높다. 팩티브가 FDA 자문회의에서 승인권고를 받았지만, 최종 허가된 것이 아니기 때문에 FDA에 신약 승인이 된다면 제약업종에 대한 투자지표를 레벨 업 시킬 것이다.
현재 제약업종은 상장 제조업에 비해 성장성, 수익성, 안정성 등 투자지표가 우월한데도 불구하고 주요 투자지표는 상장 제조업 평균대비 69∼79% 수준에 불과하므로 업종 저평가 요인을 해소시킬 수 있는 요인이 될 것이다.
